Ensure that the correct vacuuming accessory is used when you vacuum the carpet. Vacuuming the carpet increases its life and retains the beauty of your floor.
Spot and spill removal:
Remove stains and spills immediately to avoid stains on the carpet. Use R2X to remove stain and soil from the carpet and make it look like new. Rinse thoroughly with water if you're cleaning with detergent to avoid detergent residue; blot dry after removing the spill.
Overall cleaning:Get your carpet cleaned regularly with the right cleaning systems.
Buy the right cleaning equipment to clean the carpet yourself. Read the instruction manual carefully before cleaning.
R2X:Use R2X to resist and remove stains and soils from your carpet. It reduces the chances of your carpet staining with food or beverage.
Cleaning tips:Clean with a damp cloth immediately in case you spill food or drinks. For tough stains like oil, paint, marker, or cigarette marks, use acetone (nail polish remover) on a white cloth to clean. Wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid leaving any liquid item on the floor.
Sweep, dust, or use a hard floor attachment to vacuum the floor to remove dirt and grit without scratching the floor.
Mop the floor:
Wipe the floor with a damp mop or cloth but avoid using soap, detergent, oil-soap detergent, or any other liquid cleansing agent. Using them could cause swelling, delamination, warping, and joint-line separation.
Periodically clean with R2X Hard Surfaces Flooring Cleaner for better results.
Avoid the following:
Don’t use any type of buffing machine. Avoid using oil based, wax, polish, or strong ammoniated or abrasive cleaners. Don’t use steel wool or scouring powder.
Routine care:For spots like chewing gum or candle wax, harden it with ice and gently remove with a plastic scraper, such as a credit card. Don’t scratch the flooring in the process. Wipe with a damp cloth.
Protective mats:Use protective mats on entryways to prevent collection of dirt, sand, grit, and other substances like oil, driveway sealer, or asphalt on your flooring. Avoid using rubber or foam-backed mats as they may discolor the flooring. Use an approved vinyl rug underlayment to avoid slipping.
Use floor protectors:
Minimize indentations and scratches on the floor by using a floor protector and wide-load leg bases or rollers. The heavier the object is, the wider should be the floor protector.
Maintain relative humidity level:Maintain normal humidity level at home throughout the year to minimize expansion or contraction of wood. Keep a humidifier during the heating season and an air conditioning system or a dehumidifier during the non-heating season to maintain humidity.
Avoid sharp objects:Avoid placing sharp objects on the floor. Don’t walk on the floor with stiletto heels, cleats, or spiked golf shoes. Trim the nails of your pet to keep them from scratching the floor.
Rearrange rugs and furniture:Rearrange rugs and furniture regularly to allow the floor to age and be exposed to UV sunlight evenly. UV sunlight will also help soften the ton of the hardwood in various degrees.
Regular cleaning:It’s better to vacuum the rugs daily to retain its look. Vacuum twice weekly if you're living in light traffic area and daily if you're living in heavy traffic area.
Be careful while vacuuming shag-type rags as the cable yarn could get stuck around the beater-bars, which will damage the fiber. Disconnect the beater bar and lower the height setting for best suction. Buy a carpet rake to loosen the soil before vacuuming.
Professional carpet cleaning is necessary from time-to-time using hot water extraction method. Don’t dry clean or use bleach on your rugs.
Immediately clean spills created from food and beverages to prevent stains. Blot with a clean cloth and then use a solution of clear dishwashing detergent and water (1/4 tsp detergent to I quart warm water) to spot clean. Rinse with water and blot dry. Do not dry clean, bleach, scrub, or rub the rug. Only blot.

Mop the floor once a week (or more often if you're in heavy traffic areas) using a special cleaner. Ask us for recommendations.
Use proper floor cleaner:
Cleanser used should be a neutral pH compatible with grout cleaning. Don’t use detergent or soap as it can dull the surface or increase the growth of mildew. Ensure that the cleaning agent used doesn’t contain strong acids, vinegar, ammonia, or chlorine as they can damage and discolor the stone or tile and the grout.
Use pads under furniture legs and protective mats at entryways.
Apply sealer carefully:Wait till the grout cures before applying a sealer.
Sweep the floor:
When necessary, sweep the floor to remove all the dirt and grit.
Remove spills:Wipe spills immediately in case you drop food.
Use a special cleaner occasionally while mopping the floor.
Don’t use soap-based or detergent products as it might dim the shine of the home.
Since they are resilient, they don’t require additional buffing, shining, or waxing. Doing this might harm the finish.
Avoid walking on floor after mopping:Be careful while walking on the floor after mopping as resilient vinyl floors can be slippery when wet.
